Photo-booking is easy to learn.

Making photobooks is a wonderful note in your song of life, a creative skill you will use over and over again. Each time you make a Photobook you learn something new, your skills improve and the best part is you will have wonderful editions of your life in pages to cherish. You’ll be proud to say, “I made this!”

The Goal

Upon completion of Simplicity, the Beginning Photobook Workshop:

  1.  You will have the tools to Plan your photobook.
  2. You will know How to construct a basic, practice photobook using the photos you bring.

The first segment of Simplicity engages you in something so important and yet, is rarely talked about, how to Plan and Prepare to make a photobook! Participants receive a workbook that we go through together. You’ll find that planning in advance saves you hours, if not days or weeks, of actual photobook making, revising, editing and proofing!

The next segment of Simplicity engages you in learning to navigate the online photobook editor. You will learn to upload the digital images you bring and build a practice photobook using your photos. Participants will learn to use the page making tools, menus and libraries. Sound complicated? It isn't! It all makes sense! Once you learn to navigate the controls, you will fly!

We will use the Photobook Canada online editor to construct our practice photobooks. Why PB Canada and not one of the other wonderful programs? To be honest, most photobook editors (Mixbook, Blurb, to name a few) are amazingly similar. Learn one and you’ll easily transition to another. Once you are confident with one photobook editor, you can try others.

A photobook, on average, can take weeks to design, proof and publish. The GOAL of the Simplicity workshop is to teach you how to construct a basic, no frills practice photobook in just a few hours.

Cover to cover, it’ll be an enjoyable experience!

What to Bring

  • A laptop computer
  • 8 - 10 digital photo files
  • A desire to learn and make new friends!
